LOCAL RESISTANCE
Decolonize PDX - a collective of people of color in Portland OR. We decolonize because we know this land is already occupied. We decolonize because communities of color have been on the front lines of the 99 percent here and globally for centuries. We decolonize because the system is not broken; it is working exactly the way it was intended. We decolonize because any movement that doesn’t acknowledge this replicates oppression.
Partnership for Safety and Justice - works with people convicted of crime, survivors of crime, and the families of both to advocate for policies that make Oregon’s approach to public safety more effective and more just.
Rose City Copwatch - works to eliminate or radically change police institutions.
Rose City Resistance - Rosecityresistance.org is an anarcho-syndicalist collective dedicated to sharing information, knowledge, and resources with our comrades who struggle against the current state structured system.
Fire Frashour Campaign - We are tired of the Police murdering people with impunity, facing neither criminal charges nor meaningful discipline. We are tired of the rulings of justifiable homicide. We are tired of meaningless “oversight” that is designed to bury complaints against the police instead of addressing them. It’s time for the community to push back against the abuse of the Portland Police Bureau, to demand changes based on our needs for safety and justice, not job security for killer cops. Help us fire Officer Frashour and his fellow killer cops
Oregon Jericho Movement - local chapter of National Jericho Movement
Rose City Antifa - opposing fascist organizing through education, direct action, and the development of viable social and cultural alternatives.
PSU Students For Unity - Students for Unity works for racial, social, and economic justice on our campus and in our community. We believe the university should be a model for labor rights, environmental standards, and democratic, community decision-making. SFU educates and organizes around issues of globalization, militarization, environmental justice and sustainability, and student decision-making power.
Eminism.org - web site for Emi Koyama, the activist/author/academic working on intersex, sex workers' rights, (queer) domestic violence, genderqueer, anti-racism, and other issues.
Walidah: the Bad Sista - A historian at heart, reporter by (w)right, rebel by reason, Walidah Imarisha is a spoken word artist and aspires to be a revolutionary.

Resistance to Militarization
Civilian Soldier Alliance - supporting resistance within the ranks. Civilian Soldier Alliance is an organization of civilians working with veterans and active-duty service-members to build a GI resistance movement towards a just foreign policy. We work with and support service-members and veterans to withdraw military support from the occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan, supporting resistance within the military that empowers service members to have a voice and develop as leaders organizing for change.
Iraq Veterans Against the War - IVAW's strategy is to mobilize the military community to withdraw its support for the war and occupation in Iraq. Therefore, IVAW is leading the movement of veterans and GIs
Vietnam Veterans Against the War - a national veterans' organization that was founded in New York City in 1967 after six Vietnam vets marched together in a peace demonstration. It was organized to voice the growing opposition among returning servicemen and women to the still-raging war in Indochina, and grew rapidly to a membership of over 30,000 throughout the United States as well as active duty GIs stationed in Vietnam. Through ongoing actions and grassroots organization, VVAW exposed the ugly truth about US involvement in Southeast Asia and our first-hand experiences helped many other Americans to see the unjust nature of that war.
Military Families Speak Out - an organization of people opposed to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan who have relatives or loved ones currently in the military, or who have served in the military since the fall of 2002. Support Our Troops Bring Them Home Now and Take Care of Them When They Get Here.

Veterans for Peace - includes men and women veterans of all eras and duty stations spanning the Spanish Civil War (1936-39), World War II, the Korean, Vietnam, Gulf and current Iraq wars as well as other conflicts. Our collective experience tells us wars are easy to start and hard to stop and that those hurt are often the innocent. Thus, other means of problem solving are necessary. Courage to Resist - a group of concerned community members, veterans and military families that supports military objectors to illegal war and occupation and the policies of empire. Our People Power strategy weakens the pillars that maintain war and occupation in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere by supporting GI resistance, counter-recruitment and draft resistance, which cuts off the supply of troops. We are autonomous from and independent of any political organization, party or group. Coffee Strong - a veteran-owned, veteran-operated GI coffeehouse. Veterans provide a safe place for soldiers to share the effects of disastrous wars, within 300 meters of the gates at Ft Lewis. The unique coffeehouse welcomes soldiers with a free cup of coffee. There is access to the Internet, an informative library, and many referrals are available to community resources, including GI Rights counseling and Veterans Benefits. Free legal and educational resources are available. |
Art for flyer of the Raze the Walls: Resistance to Militarization event was done by Kevin "Rashid" Johnson, one of the founding members of the New Afrikian Black Panther Party-Prison Chapter. You can read more about Rashid HERE.
